Trying to reproduce an experiment by Dan Catt @revdancatt (shown among others in https://revdancatt.com/2020/06/14/line-tests).
A piece of string below the paper, plotting simple straight lines with the pen not touching the flat part of the paper, only leaving marks where the paper is slightly pushed upwards due to the underlying string.

Below there are plots with pens of different sizes - overview and details.

Interesting to see that the pens seem not to work completely ‘linearly’, but partially seem to show ‘steps’ in thickness - which is most likely due to the fact that I used fresh and unused pens in these tests and they first would need to get softer.

Little detail in the last two photos: the white structure roughly in the middle of the lines at the top - here the paper ‘snapped’ a bit due to the changing weight of the pen while moving. If you wonder why the lines in these are sometimes seemingly randomly shifted: this was actually the first plot that I tried - and I had the lines not sorted, so they were drawn not systematically from top to bottom. This clearly shows that the fresh pens started to quickly change its tip while drawing.
